REMOTE CONTROLS WORK ON YOUR CAREER. TRUST ME.

A remote control works by sending electromagnetic waves at a receiver at a certain frequency. Humans emit energy in the same regard. We can change our own channels. Even those of our careers.

As a filmmaker and artist, I’ve developed a certain mission statement or mantra. I strive to create work that enlightens, educates and entertains. My passion drives the work’s focus toward human concerns and connection. I wish to spark dialogue. I want us to feel closer to each other. I believe this creates positive change in the world.

I also wish for financial prosperity in my career as an artist. That’s cold cash I’m talking about. And I want to travel. Often. I can do all of these and do them very well. I am learning.

I must direct my energy toward these goals and steps to achieve them. I align my projects with my vision and instinct. I focus on work that pays, research grants that support these issues and apply, apply, apply. I seek opportunities in lands far, far away (or not so far) and travel there. Gladly.

I direct my energies to these goals just as a remote control sends electromagnetic waves to a receiver. And mine is a hard-workin’ frequency. Nine-to-five, five days a week ain’t got nothin’ on me.

I truly feel my work brings us closer as human beings. I feel it experiments with creating change through an energy wave of human empathy and connection.

I enjoy what I do. I feel my purpose here. It took me a minute to find it. Sometimes I have to take the wrong path to find the right path. Maybe a few times. This path of creating films and art around themes of humanity makes me feel good. And useful. Ahh, it feels good to be wanted.
