Artist INC Live Argenta Management

Donna Hardcastle worked for Twin City Bank, now Centennial Bank, North Little Rock, for 35 years, areas of responsibility included retail, lending and senior management. During this time, she served as chairman for several nonprofit organizations and came to love the nonprofit world.

In July 2009 Donna became the Executive Director for the Argenta Downtown Council (ADC), a non-profit providing a clean, green safe environment for our downtown. In January 2009, the Argenta Arts Foundation (AAF) was formed and she became Executive Director for the AAF as well as the ADC. The AAF is a local Arts organization, producing art and cultural events, providing financial and marketing support to other art endeavors, advocate for art, education and economic development.

The Argenta Arts Foundation in North Little Rock was selected by Artist INC of Kansas City to host one of the first Artist INC Live programs outside of Kansas City in 2013 and held the program in 2014, serving 48 artists. The AAF held an Art Show and sale for the participants and solicited participants to provide their images used on the Main Street Banners.

Kandy Jones, The Garage Sale Queen,
has been an artist all her life. She calls herself a “redneck Martha Stewart.” She explores the world around her and recycles it into something new and unexpected with found objects. Her creations move, converse with, surprise and amuse the viewer. Her mixed media mosaics and hypertufa work are found in Little Rock’s River Market, Clinton Foundation, Little Rock Zoo, and private collections throughout Arkansas. She is a frequent guest on KATV’s Saturday Daybreak, and has appeared with Janet Carson, and Chris Olsen. She has been featured in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, North Little Rock Times, Arkansas Times, and 501 Life. She teaches at the Arkansas Arts Center and Eureka Springs School of Arts. An avid storyteller, she speaks to groups all over Arkansas about the “Art of Recycling,” and she has been featured on NPR’s “Tales From the South.” She has won the  People’s Choice Award at the 2013 & 2014 Arkansas Sculpture Invitational.
