Omaha Creative Institute (OCI) strengthens the creative fabric of Omaha by offering weekend hands-on workshops for the general public, by providing local artists the resources needed to enrich their careers, and by inspiring engagement between artists and the community to produce shared artistic experiences.  OCI's mission is to build the audience for the arts in the greater Omaha community and to provide resources, emphasizing financial sustainability, to artists. Artist INC Live Omaha 2017

Eight weekly sessions will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Omaha Creative Institute, 1516 Cuming Street, Omaha, NE 68102

Application will be accepted May 24 - July 3, 2017. 


Artist INC Live Omaha is open to artists of all disciplines. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, and may not be a degree-seeking student.  Due to the weekly in-person attendance required for the workshop, Artist INC recommends participants live within a 90-mile radius of Omaha.

How to Apply

Applications are reviewed by representatives of the partnering organizations as well as artists and arts professionals in the field.  The selected participants will reflect a balanced cross-section of artists from multiple disciplines and backgrounds.


If you are selected to participate in Artist INC Live, there is a $150 fee. Even with the participant fee, the program is heavily subsidized. Give the generosity of the Artist INC funding partners, participants are required to attend all sessions of the workshop, barring illness or emergency. Please review the schedule to be sure that you are available for all of the sessions.

What Works Workshops

Want to learn more about What Works for fine artists to create sustainable careers?  Come to one of the What Works workshops presented in Omaha.  Artist INC will teach you the ten things that make the difference in the business end of a fine arts practice and answer your questions on topics from marketing to taxes to copyright.  This is also a great chance to meet the Artist INC Live Omaha Peer Facilitators and ask any questions you have about the Artist INC Live seminar. The What Works workshops are free.
